Diva Quest
Southeast Wisconsin's Premier Scholarship Competition
Diva Quest is a vocal scholarship competition for young women in high school who want to showcase their vocal abilities and earn scholarship money for continuing education. Since 2006, The Diva Quest Scholarship Competition has been helping young women cultivate their vocal skills with an emphasis on promoting personal growth and self-confidence. Diva Quest encourages any young woman who loves singing to audition regardless of ability. Whether you're professionally trained or just like singing in front of the mirror, we only provide positive feedback and encouragement!
How Diva Quest Works
Diva Quest is patterned after American Idol. Open auditions are held in November. We accept online auditions and also provide opportunities for live auditions. Each each audition is reviewed by a panel of three expert judges. Once auditions are completed, the judges carefully collaborate and select the ten best contestants to compete in the Top Ten. One week after auditions are complete, ALL contestants are ranked and personally contacted with the results and positive feedback is provided to all. In the event that one of the Top Ten contestants cannot perform, a replacement will be selected from the audition rankings.
After the Top Ten are notified, rehearsals begin. They are held once a week on the Mondays in January. Each contestant meets with the Diva Quest coordinators and vocal experts to help her select a song that best showcases her ability. Contestants have the final say on which song they perform.
The competition itself is a professionally produced and coordinated show that includes performances from well-known contemporary singers and Riverport Chorus with the main focal point being The Top Ten Contestants. Each contestant performs one song. The winner is determined by a combination of audience votes (20%) and a panel of four judges (80%). The judges critique each performance using a 10 point scale (10 being the best) in five different areas:
