Please read very carefully, as there is important information for you about being in the Top 10!
As stated in the first contest packet, all top 10 contestants are required to be at all rehearsals (Bristol Grade School~ 20121 83rd St.~ Bristol WI) and are required to be at the tech rehearsal on January 30th from 1:00 p.m. until the show has ended. (These practices are all weather-permitting- please check the website/email for practice cancelations). Parents are encouraged to come to all practices with their daughters.
Diva Checklist
Contract
- Must be signed by contestant and parent/guardian to receive scholarship money. The contestants must give us information about the institution of higher education of their choice (when they know) where they are going to attend school. The scholarship will be held until the contestants attend that school, and will also be written directly to the institution
Music
- Please bring 2 copies of your music by the January 17th rehearsal. We will be helping you choose an appropriate song for your voice type. All songs will need to be pre-approved.
Ad Campaign
- Each contestant is being asked to get at least 5 patron ads. Ads cost $15.00 each. ADS MUST BE HANDED IN NO LATER THAN JANUARY 11TH, PLEASE! Monies earned from ads will be contributing to Diva Quest Scholarship Fund.
Rehearsal Schedule
- December (during break)-
individual/small group practice~ Monday December 28th, and Sunday January 3rd (Monday will be an evening practice and the Sunday will be a whole group practice, since most of you already signed up for it.) We will slot you in when you are available.
- January 4th - 6:00-8:00 p.m.
- January 11th - 6:00-8:00 p.m
- January 17th -
(Sunday) 12:30- Nelson's Mane Concern (164 W. Chestnut St. Burlington, WI 53105).
Then 1:30- 3:30 at the Aurora Wellness Center (300 Mc Canna Parkway Burlington WI 53105)
- January 18th - 6:00-8:00 p.m.
- January 25th (Late Monday Evening) - 6:00- 9:30 p.m.
January 30th - Show day timeline!
Rehearsal begins @ 1:00 p.m.
Diva Quest show begins @ 6:00 p.m.
Both will be held at Assembly of God Christian Life School .(10700 75th Street Kenosha, WI 53142)
Songs To Learn
- Top 10 contestants are required to learn the songs that you will be singing with the Riverport Chorus in addition to your own song. These songs ("Happy Together" (each contestant has
their own solo) & "For Good" - (solo)) are on the learning CD you received. The winning Diva will sing a solo at the beginning of our closing number.
Dress Code
- - Each contestant will be required to have two outfits for this show. There is no need to go and buy new clothes! Please use things that you already have. There are also people who can loan you certain things if it is needed. Each contestant will need to bring a black outfit with silver accents (hair tie, belt, shoes, and jewelry) for the opening number in the show. This number will be done with the Riverport Chorus. The second is an outfit for your solo performance. ALL SHOW OUTFITS MUST BE APPROVED BY January 17th. When you have ideas of what you would like to wear, please bring them to rehearsal to try on for approval.
Ticket information
- Contestants will not be charged for their tickets; after all, the show is about you!
Tickets are:
$15.00 for adults
$10.00 for students Age 2 and under are FREE.
You may purchase tickets all the way up until the show. Please feel free to take more tickets from Sheila as you wish at practices.
Public Relations information (posters)
- We will give you as many posters as you think you will need in order to promote the show. These will be available to print off from the website. Remember the audience has a part in deciding who wins the scholarship, so attendance is very crucial for all of the contestants! Put them at school, give them to parents to put up at work, Church or any other place you deem suitable.
Afterglow information (After Party)
- Let us know how many friends and family will be joining you for the afterglow party to celebrate the top 10 Diva contestants. There is no charge to attend. Location TBD.
T-Shirts
- If you, your family or friends would like a Diva Quest T-shirt, please let us know. We need to have a minimum number of t-shirt orders if we are going to offer them. Final orders must be in no later than January 4th.
